Coaches Corner
- Scoring
We will not be keeping score for Passers and PeeWees
- Times Two Program
There must always be at least one adult (in addition to the coach) to have a practice. A single coach alone cannot have a practice.
- Playing time for each player – The SAY rules dictate that “each player be allowed to play or given the opportunity to play at least the equivalent of approximately one-half of every game, as closely as possible.” The spirit of this rule is that each child be allowed to play at least half of the game without exception. I know that I would be disappointed if my child was not able to play at least half of the game.
- Game rescheduling – It is OK to reschedule games but don’t forget about the referees. Our referee coordinator for FAA games is Tara McMahan(532-6149, nefretemerson@hotmail.com). If she is not alerted and if the refs show up for a game that you have cancelled, the refs still get paid. If they are needed to ref the rescheduled game, you will be paying for the refs, not FAA. This happened a number of times last year. Also, I have access to the FAA field schedule for availability.
- Game cancellation – Coaches cannot cancel a game, only the refs can. If you have not heard from the refs or me prior to a game, even if is raining, go to the field. Only the refs can cancel the game.
